Minor Signs of the Day of Resurrection (4) (In the Light of Ḥadīth)

Authority will be entrusted to dishonest and unworthy people:

    Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When trust is lost, then await the Hour.” Abū Hurayrah asked: “O Messenger of Allah, how will trust be lost?” He ﷺ said: “When authority is given to those who are not qualified for it, then await the Hour.”

Falsehood will become widespread, and commercial centers will proliferate:

    Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The Hour will not be established until tribulations appear, falsehood becomes widespread, commercial markets become common, time passes rapidly, and harj increases greatly.”

    Jābir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Before the Hour, many liars will appear; beware of them.”

Singing and musical instruments will become widespread:

    Sahl ibn Saʿd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Near the end of time, there will be landslides, pelting (from the sky), and transformations.” It was asked: “O Messenger of Allah, when will this occur?” He ﷺ said: “When musical instruments and singing women become widespread and intoxicants are regarded as lawful.”

Intoxicants will become widespread:

    Abū Mālik al-Ashʿarī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Among my ummah, there will be people who will drink wine but will call it by another name; musical instruments will be played in their presence and singing women will sing. Allah will cause the earth to swallow them.”

Some people will declare adultery, silk, intoxicants, and music lawful:

    Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Among my ummah, there will be people who will declare adultery, silk, intoxicants, and music lawful.”
    (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī)

Indecency, immodesty, and obscene speech will become widespread:

    ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿAmr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Indeed, Allah does not love indecency and obscene speech. The Hour will not be established until indecency and obscene speech become widespread, kinship ties are severed, neighbors are mistreated, the treacherous are regarded as trustworthy, and the trustworthy are regarded as treacherous.”

The killer will not know why he killed, and the one killed will not know why he was killed:

    Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, the world will not end until a time comes when the killer will not know why he killed, and the one killed will not know why he was killed.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: “How will that be?” He ﷺ said: “Due to widespread bloodshed; both the killer and the one killed will be in the Fire.”

Clarification: Both the killer and the one killed will be in Hell in the case where each intended to kill the other. And Allah knows best.
