English Translation
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Obedience to the Messenger (Peace Be Upon Him)
(In the Light of the Qur’an)
-
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Transliteration: Qul in kuntum tuḥibbūna Allāha fa-ittabiʿūnī yuḥbibkumu Allāhu wa yaghfir lakum dhunūbakum, wa Allāhu ghafūrun raḥīm
Translation: “Say: If you love Allah, then follow me; Allah will love you and forgive your sins; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (Al-Imran :31)

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
Transliteration: Qul aṭīʿū Allāha wa al-rasūl, fa-in tawallaw fa-inna Allāha lā yuḥibbu al-kāfirīn
Translation: “Say: Obey Allah and the Messenger; but if they turn away, then indeed Allah does not love the disbelievers.” (Al-Imran :32)

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا لِيُطَاعَ بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ إِذ ظَّلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ جَآءُوكَ فَٱسْتَغْفَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱسْتَغْفَرَ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ لَوَجَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ تَوَّابًا رَّحِيمًا
Transliteration: Wa mā arsalnā min rasūlin illā li-yuṭāʿa bi-idhni Allāh, wa law annahum idh ẓalamū anfusahum jāʾūka fa-istaghfarū Allāha wa istaghfara lahumu al-rasūlu la-wajadū Allāha tawwāban raḥīmā
Translation: “We sent no messenger except to be obeyed by Allah’s command. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you and sought forgiveness from Allah, and the Messenger had sought forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance, Merciful.” (An-Nisa :64)

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا
Transliteration: Fa-lā wa rabbika lā yuʾminūna ḥattā yuḥakkimūka fīmā shajara baynahum thumma lā yajidū fī anfusihim ḥarajan mimmā qaḍayta wa yusallimū taslīmā
Translation: “But no, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in their disputes, then find within themselves no discomfort regarding what you decide, and submit fully.” (An-Nisa :65)

قُلْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنِّى رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَـَٔامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ ٱلْأُمِّىِّ ٱلَّذِى يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦ وَٱتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
Transliteration: Qul yā ayyuhā al-nāsu innī rasūlu Allāhi ilaykum jamīʿan alladhī lahu mulku al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ, lā ilāha illā huwa yuḥyī wa yumīt, fa-āminū bi-Allāhi wa rasūlihi al-nabiyyi al-ummī alladhī yuʾminu bi-Allāhi wa kalimātihi wa-ittabiʿūhu laʿallakum tahtadūn
Translation: “Say: O people, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all — to Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth; there is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. So believe in Allah and His Messenger, the unlettered Prophet who believes in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided.” (Al-Aʿraf :158)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِۦ وَأَنَّهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Transliteration: Yā ayyuhā alladhīna āmanū istajībū li-Allāhi wa li-al-rasūli idhā daʿākum limā yuḥyīkum, wa iʿlamū anna Allāha yaḥūlu bayna al-marʾi wa qalbihi wa annahu ilayhi tuḥsharūn
Translation: “O believers, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life; and know that Allah intervenes between a person and his heart, and that to Him you shall be gathered.” (Al-Anfal :24)

إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوْلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ أَن يَقُولُوا۟ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۚ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ
Transliteration: Innamā kāna qawla al-muʾminīna idhā duʿū ilā Allāhi wa rasūlihi li-yaḥkuma baynahum an yaqūlū samiʿnā wa aṭaʿnā, wa ulāʾika humu al-mufliḥūn
Translation: “The only statement of the believers when they are called to Allah and His Messenger so that he may judge between them is that they say: ‘We hear and we obey,’ and they are the successful.” (An-Nur :51)

وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ وَيَخْشَ ٱللَّهَ وَيَتَّقْهِ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَآئِزُونَ
Transliteration: Wa man yuṭiʿi Allāha wa rasūlahu wa yakhsha Allāha wa yattaqhi fa-ulāʾika humu al-fāʾizūn
Translation: “And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and fears Allah and is mindful of Him — they are the successful.” (An-Nur :52)

قُلْ أَطِيعُوا ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا ٱلرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيْكُم مَّا حُمِّلْتُمْ ۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهْتَدُوا ۚ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
Transliteration: Qul aṭīʿū Allāha wa aṭīʿū al-rasūl, fa-in tawallaw fa-innamā ʿalayhi mā ḥummila wa ʿalaykum mā ḥummiltum, wa in tuṭīʿūhu tahtadū, wa mā ʿalā al-rasūli illā al-balāghu al-mubīn
Translation: “Say: Obey Allah and obey the Messenger. If you turn away, then upon him is what he has been charged with and upon you is what you have been charged with; and if you obey him, you will be guided; and the Messenger is only responsible for clear conveyance.” (An-Nur :54)

لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا
Transliteration: Laqad kāna lakum fī rasūli Allāhi uswatun ḥasanah li-man kāna yarjū Allāha wa al-yawma al-ākhir wa dhakara Allāha kathīrā
Translation: “Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.” (Al-Ahzab :21)

وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍۢ وَلَا مُؤْمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥٓ أَمْرًا أَن يَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلْخِيَرَةُ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ ۗ وَمَن يَعْصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلًۭا مُّبِينًۭا
Transliteration: Wa mā kāna li-muʾminin wa lā muʾminatin idhā qaḍā Allāhu wa rasūluhu amran an yakūna lahumu al-khiyaratu min amrihim, wa man yaʿṣi Allāha wa rasūlahu faqad ḍalla ḍalālan mubīnā
Translation: “It is not for a believing man or believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger decide a matter, that they should have any choice in their affair; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error.” (Al-Ahzab :36)

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَرْفَعُوٓا۟ أَصْوَٰتَكُمْ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ ٱلنَّبِىِّ وَلَا تَجْهَرُوا۟ لَهُۥ بِٱلْقَوْلِ كَجَهْرِ بَعْضِكُم لِبَعْضٍ أَن تَحْبَطَ أَعْمَـٰلُكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَشْعُرُونَ
Transliteration: Yā ayyuhā alladhīna āmanū lā tarfaʿū aṣwātakum fawqa ṣawti al-nabī wa lā tajharū lahu bil-qawli ka-jahri baʿḍikum li-baʿḍin an taḥbaṭa aʿmālukum wa antum lā tashʿurūn
Translation: “O believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet and do not speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another, lest your deeds become worthless while you do not perceive.” (Al-Hujurat :2)

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَغُضُّونَ أَصْوَٰتَهُمْ عِندَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱمْتَحَنَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۚ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَأَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Transliteration: Inna alladhīna yaghuḍḍūna aṣwātahum ʿinda rasūli Allāh ulāʾika alladhīna imtaḥana Allāhu qulūbahum lil-taqwā, lahum maghfiratun wa ajrun ʿaẓīm
Translation: “Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of Allah — they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness; for them is forgiveness and a great reward.” (Al-Hujurat :3)

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُنَادُونَكَ مِن وَرَآءِ ٱلْحُجُرَٰتِ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْقِلُونَ
Transliteration: Inna alladhīna yunādūnaka min warāʾi al-ḥujurāti aktharuhum lā yaʿqilūn
Translation: “Indeed, those who call you from behind the chambers — most of them do not understand.” (Al-Hujurat :4)

وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ صَبَرُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ تَخْرُجَ إِلَيْهِمْ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَّهُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Transliteration: Wa law annahum ṣabarū ḥattā takhruja ilayhim la-kāna khayran lahum, wa Allāhu ghafūrun raḥīm
Translation: “If they had been patient until you came out to them, it would have been better for them; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.” (Al-Hujurat :5)

وَمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمُ ٱلرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَىٰكُمْ عَنْهُ فَٱنتَهُوا۟ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَدِيدُ ٱلْعِقَابِ
Transliteration: Wa mā ātākumu al-rasūlu fa-khudhūhu wa mā nahākum ʿanhu fa-intahū, wa ittaqū Allāh, inna Allāha shadīdu al-ʿiqāb
Translation: “Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from, refrain from it; and fear Allah — indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.” (Al-Hashr :7)
